For more than 20 years, LɅɅNCH was the chief marketing communications counsel for Hilton Head Island. LɅɅNCH devised the shoulder-season strategy that led to the island’s steep increase in business from the 1980s through 2000, leading the expansion of Hilton Head’s brand promise beyond golf and beaches and re-focused on drive-radius markets. The long-term relationship with the Hilton Head CVB was the genesis of LɅɅNCH’s understanding of the finer points of constituent-based branding. The dozens of initiatives within that success were a master class for developing the expertise that led to the popularization of many other destinations.
